Limericks - The Poetry of the People

Why Limericks?

Mainly because they are possibly *the* most accessible form of poetry in the English language. Nearly everyone has made a limerick of some sort during their lifetime. Here we show off the best of those we've found or have been submitted - some ar bad, some are dreadful and some can only have been created by dyslexic trolls... but a few are just glorious!

And the content? Well... I think you need to look for yourself.

Note 1: since most start with "There was... " we've listed them 'creatively'... so it might be hard to find your favourites... but I hope not.

Note 2: lots of the verses of 'The ball at Killiemuir" or "Three German officers" are theoretically limericks, so if you're looking for *really* mucky ones I'd suggest you look the Hymns and Arias dictionary first.
